Do I need to be a veterinarian or animal professional to take this course?
No! This course is designed for both pet parents and professionals. We have students with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience. Whether you're a vet, groomer, trainer, essential oil user, or simply want to confidently support your own animals with essential oils, this course is for you.

I’m already certified in aromatherapy—will I still learn something new?
Absolutely. This course will be a great addition to the training you have already received. You will dive deep into the best practices and protocols for using essential oils safely with different species of animals. All under the guidance of Dr. Janet Roark, one of the leading veterinarians in the field of animal aromatherapy.
I’m totally new to essential oils—will I be lost in this course?
Not at all! This certification starts with the basics and builds from there. Listen to how this has helped one of our students, Rebecca, when she first went through the course.
“I’m a dog trainer (dealing mainly with behavior modification) who took this course to expand the ways that I can help my clients. Although many of [the other students] have previous experience with EOs, I really had no experience besides the benefits I’ve seen to my own health through the use of oils by my bodywork practitioner. Do I need to buy specific oils to take the course?
No. This course is unbranded and uses single oils instead of brand specific blends. We do, however, strongly recommend only using high-quality, tested, pure essential oils.
Is this training only for dogs, or does it include other animals?
This course covers dogs, cats, horses, birds, and other common pets. You’ll learn how to adapt protocols by species, personality, and situation.
When does the next AASC Course Start?
The 6-week Animal Aromatherapy Specialist Certification course is usually offered 2-3 times each year. Registration is open for the following sessions:

How long do I have access to the course material?
You have LIFETIME ACCESS to the videos, trainings, and materials! It is recommended that you complete all homework, quizzes, and case studies within 60 days of the last live training session. Assignments will be accepted up to one year after the course is complete.
How long does it take to complete the certification program?
You can complete this material in 3-6 hours per week, but remember you have up to a year after the last live class to complete the course requirements, so go at your own pace!
What if I cannot attend live? Are their recordings?
Yes, the recordings are made available and you have lifetime access to them – watch them as many times as you’d like and you can even pause and take notes if you need to! Live sessions will usually be at 5 PM Central Time on Mondays and the Q & A sessions will be at 5 PM Central Time on Thursdays. Attendance in live sessions is highly recommended but not required. Yes! Once you complete all of the course requirements*, you will receive an email with a printable Animal Aromatherapy Specialist Certification certificate signed by Dr. Janet Roark.

Why did Dr. Roark create this program?
When I started the Animal Aromatherapy Specialist Certification (AASC) course, I searched around for what training was available out there for animal aromatherapy. I was not impressed. I found boring modules on a website, usually not even taught by a veterinarian.
I’ve taken online courses before… and found a big problem with most of them. Some didn’t have enough information. Others a waste of my time or confusing and they didn’t offer any sense of community. It was so frustrating!
Maybe you’ve taken online courses like that? Many of you were asking me for an online animal aromatherapy course, so I set out to do something different.
I wanted to create something that was practical. Hands-on. Useful. Confidence-building. Compassionate. Interactive. And dare I say it… even FUN!
The first class in 2020 helped me improve the course so much. Each class just gets better and better, and the students coming out of AASC are ROCKSTARS when it comes to helping animals and their owners with essential oils. Their confidence continues to build, and I love that pet owners can now turn to these amazing people to help their animals.
